Birth Classes and Consultations

 As a Lamaze-certified Childbirth Educator, Spinning Babies™ Certified Parent Educator, and Certified Lactation Specialist, I offer a variety of birth and parenting preparation classes, in groups and one-on-one, for all members of the family and the birth team.

Note as of 2025: I have very limited availability for private classes and consultations. I am not currently offering any group classes.

Prenatal or Postpartum Consultation

Birth planning or processing, available any time before, during, or after pregnancy.  

Assistance with:

  • Choosing or changing your care provider and/or birth location

  • Learning about local childbirth education and birth/postpartum support options

  • Answering your questions about pregnancy, birth, postpartum, breastfeeding, parenting

  • Birth planning & preparation for families who are not hiring a doula

  • Adapting to a mid-pregnancy change in plans, such as a move, a need to schedule an induction or cesarean birth, or a new diagnosis of parent or baby

  • Processing a previous birth experience, listening to your story, and helping to clarify questions

  • Connecting you with resources

Fee: $100 for initial consultation; $50/hour for any subsequent sessions

Group and private birth and parenting preparation classes

Customized one-on-one sessions and small group classes focus on your situation, needs, and questions, so that you leave feeling confident and excited about giving birth!

  • Physiologic labor and birth overview and techniques for comfort and progress

  • Preparation for hospital or home birth

  • Preparation for breastfeeding

  • Other topics designed specifically for you, based on your unique family and circumstances

Fees: $50/hour for private classes. Group class fees vary; see specific classes for details. (Not currently offered)

Spinning Babies® Birth Preparation Class

Group and private classes to promote comfort in pregnancy and ease in birth.

This class highlights your baby’s active participation in rotating down and out of the pelvis. You will learn:

  • Daily practices to increase comfort in pregnancy and give baby space to move and settle into a great birth position 

  • Positions and comfort measures to use during labor

  • Solutions for when labor doesn’t move forward in a typical pattern

Fee: $50/hour for private classes. (Group classes not currently offered)
